Religious Education
At St. Joseph Parish, we are dedicated to the teaching mission of the church. For our elementary and secondary religious education ( youth ministry), we strive to provide quality leadership, to develop programs of educational excellence, and to prepare students for a truly Christian life.
C.C.D.
Kindergarten thru 8th grades meet Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the months of September to May. Classes are held at the St. Joseph Parish School.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Students are prepared in a two year program which concludes in the Second Grade. Their preparation is integrated with their normal second grade religious education curriculum. The majority of their education is in the class, but parent involvement is encouraged. Required are two mandatory meetings with parents and a workshop.
Confirmation
Students prepare thoroughly for the sacrament in their 8th grade year through a two year preparation program which begins in the 7th grade. Confirmation is made in the Spring. Required are two mandatory meetings with parents, retreat, volunteer hours and attendance in religious education.
Youth Group
Our goal is to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community as well as empower them to transform the world as disciples of Jesus Christ by living and working for justice and peace.
Youth Group is for all those in the 6th thru 12th grades. Times and dates are announced in the bulletin.
